Bio

Originally from Mayagüez, Puerto Rico, Lourdes Pérez Cordero is the UF/IFAS Agriculture and Natural Resources Extension Agent of Highlands County. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Sciences from Florida A&M University in 2019. For almost 2 years, she worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the UF/IFAS Citrus Research and Education Center, in Lake Alfred, FL. She continues to study the behavior of the Asian citrus psyllid and work on the development of a novel repellent device for its management as part of her research. Lourdes expects to earn her Master’s degree in Entomology from the University of Florida by Spring 2022.
